This is very pretty, it is a crocheted cover up. In my mind I thought this would be so 1963, but now I am worried about a wet cotton crocheted dress. I think getting this wet would be a disaster, so I think you would have to be careful. For lounging around the pool or walking the beach, great. This has very saturated colors they are not pale but vibrant. This item appears to be well made, no loose ends or threads anywhere. Very neat and tidy stitches. I was drawn to the name, Fairy Season, but the price is high even if it comes well packaged.

I was looking at some of the other color options of this exact piece and I had a realization: the way that this piece is put together at the seams is very obvious when you get the color that I got (mostly white). This is because the webbing connecting the larger crochet pieces is attached pretty obviously out in the open, there was not any afterthought about concealing the transition points (see pic). And when worn, the white really pops against my skin tone and you can really see the imperfections.Since there are these consistent imperfections and lack of clever masking of the seams of the overall construction technique that was used to put this piece together, I give 4 stars. Price is a bit high considering that there is obvious machine-enabled construction of these garments.The material is definitely going to be durable tho, given that it is 60% cotton. I could probably wear this to the hot springs, since it is mostly organic (synthetics are susceptible to heat and minerals).Sizing is tight. If you want a more relaxed fit, go a size up. The woman in the ad is wearing a tight fit, so expect your usual size to fit tight.
I just have to say, that the products from this company are so very amazing and beautifully made !! I can't believe these aren't sold on Amazon Luxury !! This is the second item I've received to review from 'Fairy Season', and I've been so impressed with both items. The first thing to notice about this cover-up, is that it comes in a faux suede bag with a stain ribbon closure. I mean that alone is enough to make your jaw drop without even laying eyes on the cover-up!! So, the cover-up is so wonderfully made out of cotton and acrylic, so it will hold its shape if it gets wet. It just screams quality if you look carefully at the details. The crochet camellias are perfectly executed, and the colors just melt with you. I ordered my size via the size chart on the item description and it fit perfectly. If you want the cover-up to be a little more oversized, then definitely size up. It really doesn't stretch a lot, but if sized correctly, it shouldn't be an issue. It looks exactly as it is depicted. The care directions say to hand wash in cold water and I would definitely do as requested and lay flat to dry. I do so love the style of this cover up, with its bell sleeves and flared skirt. I'm so depressed that it is winter, and too cold to wear a bathing suit right now, but it is perfect for that Hawaiian vacation you were thinking about. It feels as if it will last a long time with proper care. The price is a little high, but the quality is there to support that price. I can't wait to wear it with my summer tan !! What a beautiful beach coverup! The piece of clothing is made of a nice quality material that resembles crocheting or knitting I think it��s actually handmade?? Perhaps that��s why it is $89 I��m guessing(?).First off I ordered a large thinking it would be big enough but it definitely wasn��t. I��m 5��7 and between 155-160LB the large barely covers my butt! In the small print it does suggest to size up though if you want a ��more comfortable or optimal fit��. I didn��t read that part but I definitely should��ve. It does have a restrictive fabric so you can��t really move your torso that well if it��s too tight. It doesn��t really stretch at all.As I said I should��ve sized up for comfort/more relaxed fit because when I reach my arms up the cover up comes along with it leaving my bottoms exposed. And it��s a little tight around my torso. Although the piece itself without regards to size is beautiful and it came in very pretty packaging. Not sure if I would pay full price for this piece though�� (coming from someone who doesn��t spend a lot on clothes).Size up!!
I have another Fairy Season swimsuit/beach coverup that's pretty nice, but it's got three different sets of strings on the back that you have to tie to wear, and I think it's a little excessive because they're hard to tie evenly when they're on your back. So I thought I'd try this design because it has no strings attached and is more like a dress.Anyway, I ordered the medium, which is the same size I ordered in the other version and it fit perfectly. This one though, is a little snug because the material it's crocheted from doesn't stretch...like at all. Had I known, I would've ordered a large because I'm not sure it'll fit over a bathing suit.That said, this coverup is very pretty and seems well made. I would be careful though, because I can see how, with the large crochet pattern, it could snag easily on a lot of stuff. To help with that, it comes with a nice, faux suede bag to use to protect it in a suitcase while traveling.At $90, I believe the price of this coverup to very expensive. About the most I'd expect to pay for something like this is $50.
